Do visitors need to install an app?
No. A route opens in the browser on any phone. Visitors tap the link or scan a QR code and follow the route stop by stop; there is nothing to download.

Who is Coverground for?
Anyone who wants to show people around: museums, tourist offices, municipalities, nature reserves, local associations, or a shop with a story to tell about its neighbourhood. If you can place stops on a map, you can build a route.
In which countries can I build routes?
In the Netherlands. The map covers the Netherlands for now, so stops outside it are not possible yet. Want to build routes in another country? Email hi@coverground.eu — it helps us decide which country to add next.
Can I put a route on my own website?
Yes. Every published route comes with a short piece of code. Paste it into a page on your site and the route appears there. Routes only work on your own site or on sites you approve, so nobody else can run off with them.
How does Coverground choose the path between stops?
It picks a path that everyone can follow, wheelchair or pushchair included: stairs, steep stretches and rough surfaces are avoided. Want to offer a shortcut that is less accessible, such as a staircase that cuts a corner? You can add it as an alternative; visitors choose whether to see it.
What happens with my visitors' data?
Their location and the direction they face stay on their own device; Coverground never sends this to a server. We count how many people open a route and how far they get, without learning who they are. No ads, no tracking cookies, no profiles.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in Europe, under European rules.
Which languages does Coverground support?
The interface is available in English and Dutch. You write your routes in any language you like; each route states which language its content is in, so it reads in that language wherever it is shared or embedded.
What does it cost?
Two routes are free, including the route builder, the embed code, QR codes and the WordPress plugin. Paid plans add more routes, visitor statistics, your own logo and a public page listing all your routes; you get two months free when you pay yearly. See all plans and prices. Can I use a route on printed material?
Yes. Every published route can be downloaded as a QR code, as an SVG that stays sharp at any print size — on a sign at the starting point, a flyer or a museum label. Scanning it opens the route, and those visits are counted separately so you can see how much the print is used.
