What Coverground does

Below you can read how a route is made, from the first stop on the map to the route page your visitors follow. And why we built it that way.

What you get

A link of its own. Every route gets its own address. Your visitors open it in their browser, with nothing to install.
Two routes free. Starting costs nothing. More routes and extra features come with the paid plans.
The Netherlands for now. The map only covers the Netherlands, so that is where routes can be built.

Privacy-friendly. Your visitors' location and the direction they are facing stay on their own device. Coverground sends none of it to a server.
European servers. Coverground runs on servers in Europe. Your data falls under European privacy rules.
Counting, not tracking. We count how many people open your route and how far they get. We do not know who they are: no cookies, no profiles, no ads.
Accessible. Every route can be done with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Besides the map you get the whole route in text too — the list of stops and the story at each one. Along the way the guidance is read out as well.

Choose walking or cycling.
Put your stops on the map and give the route a name.
Add a short story or photos to a stop, if you want to. A stop without either is fine too.

Coverground picks a path between your stops with no stairs, steep stretches or rough surfaces, so everyone can come along.
Turns your route into a page that guides every visitor from stop to stop.
Gives you a link to share, and a snippet of code to paste into your own site.

This is how we want to build routes. Coverground is still in beta, so not everything is finished yet. We would like to hear what could be better.
